“These pieces were created based on the letters “i” & “l” ( Illus ). I wanted to make some simple shapes, and really just play with the molten glass more than anything. Just a fun and a great way to let one’s self-creativity explore the medium. Then after creating a few of them, they turned into pawns/ families. I then added crowns to the top of the pieces to reflect royalty and turned them into king/queen pieces from a chess set. I love how I was able to start with letters in mind, but transition from letters to pawns/families to ultimately Kings and Queens.”
